Why I think creating a multimedia lesson plan before creating multimedia content is important is because like most things in life take preparation and planning to ensure things go accordingly and smoothly. For an example, writing an essay usually takes brainstorming and research beforehand, and once the individual feels as if they are satisfied with their findings, they will proceed the writing process for the essay. In perspective of creating multimedia content, the same process applies too. Considering possible errors or problems that can occur prior to execution can save time in the future if problems were to arise. The multimedia principles that directly relate to videos with embedded multiple-choice questions is the signalling principle because multiple choice questions incorporated into an instructional video can be seen as cues that are added to highlight the key information being presented and can be considered a knowledge check for the individual watching the video to make sure they are comprehending what they are learning about. Lastly, I also think the feedback principle can be applied to this situation because the user is tested with a question and are notified with the feedback if they selected the wrong answer or not. This makes the individual be more aware of where they went wrong, and it gives them the guidance of what concepts or topics they need to re-evaluate or learn to ensure they are on the right track or not. This principle is an essential aspect in learning and growing.
